A Light-Emitting Diode (LED) is a highly efficient semiconductor device that emits light when an electric current passes through it, with typical lifetimes exceeding 25,000–50,000 hours and energy efficiency up to 80-90% higher than incandescent bulbs.

When you see a small light on any electronic device, that light is almost certainly coming from an LED. LED’s are also the source of light in light strips, aka light bars. And, of course, there are LED light bulbs.

There are several light strips in and around our home. All of them are controlled electronically via Home Assistant or Philips Hue switches via the Philips Hue Hub
